Allan Gray was established in 1974 and is the largest investment company being privately owned in Africa. Their philosophy is to buy companies whose share price is less than their intrinsic value. The fund managers are of the opinion that the intrinsic value will appreciate over time as the dividends, net assets and earnings increase. Allan Gray also has an integrated investment platform to their disposal which hosts a selection of domestic and foreign fund options to the client’s disposal. These options range from single- to multi manager unit trust funds or a selected combination of any of these funds. Orbis Fund managers were founded in 1989 which acts as Allan Gray’s foreign fund managers.
